Dry Biological Dressing Derived from Amniotic Membrane (Amikar) by Royan Stem Cell Technology Company

The dry biological dressing derived from the amniotic membrane, commercially known as **Amikar**, is a dried biological dressing derived from human amnion. This product is rich in extracellular matrix proteins, cytokines, and growth factors, and as a result, it can promote tissue regeneration and repair. This product has low immunogenicity, so it's not rejected by the patient's immune system and is easily accepted.

Quality Control

First, the amniotic membrane donor is screened for medical history. In the next step, Amikar products are evaluated through serological and microbiological tests as described: Additionally, biocompatibility tests including cytotoxicity, acute and chronic toxicity, sensitization, irritation, hemocompatibility, and genotoxicity are performed on the donated tissue sample. All stages of this product's manufacturing are reviewed by quality control specialists and are prepared for market after final approval.

Contraindications

In clinical studies conducted to date, the incidence of reported side effects for patients treated with Amikar has been nearly similar to that of control-treated patients, and no immunological reactions to Amikar have been reported.

Quality Control

This product should not be used without a physician's authorization. If there is an active infection at the wound site, Amikar dressing should not be used until the infection has healed. In cases of concomitant infection and wound, combined treatment using Amikar dressing is permissible only at the discretion of the treating physician.

Duration of Effect

The first signs of wound healing appear within **3 to 5 days** of the initial dressing application.
