Over the past years, with increasing public awareness in the field of cellular and stem cell sciences, and the expanding use of stem cells in treating various diseases on one hand, and the growth of Royan Stem Cell Technology Company's services on the other, the number of applicants for storing newborn umbilical cord blood throughout the country has significantly increased. For instance, in **2005 (1384 Iranian calendar)**, only 530 umbilical cord blood stem cell samples were stored by Royan Stem Cell Technology Company; whereas, the number of applicants for umbilical cord blood storage in **2025 (1404 Iranian calendar)** has increased to over 230,000 applicants.
